Field 1 (Ages 9-13)
Under Construction

The Walker Recreation Department and the City of Walker has a new field under construction at City Central Park!

We’re getting a new Field 1 to renew the already excellent City Central Park facility and to resolve a longstanding problem with flooding. This new state-of-the-art field is already under construction, and I suppose it will be finished sometime this summer, in time for the Fall 2024 season.

For now, the 9-10 age group is relocated to Field 2C; and the 11-13 age group is relocated to a new, temporary field on Ball Diamond 2 (see map).

Parking

There is plenty of parking at the Kenowa Hills Central Elementary School (3-Mile Road entrance) for fields 3 and 4 (player ages 4-6), or for the temporarily relocated field 1B (located at baseball diamond #2), just north of the restrooms and concessions building. Player ages 7-10 use field 2 with parking at City Central Park (Remembrance Road entrance).

  • The 9-10 year old age group plays on Field 2C, so the main parking area (Remembrance Road entrance) is closest. However, parking at Kenowa Hills Central Elementary School (3-Mile Road entrance) may work well, too, especially for families that also have players in the 4-6 ages playing on fields 3 or 4.
  • The 11-13 year old age group plays on the baseball diamond outfield north of the
